News! |
05.19.2013-
The remote base antenna is now at 175' and its working perfectly! Thanks again to Gorden W5GSR for the donation! The VHF machine is now at 147.300 PL110.9 wideband for testing. Early tests are not looking good. I still have rolling pipes feedback.
03.24.2013-
Finally, after all this time, WE HAVE A REMOTE BASE! We now have a dual band kenwood V7a acting as a frequency agile remote base. I am doing lots of testing with Carl Noblit N5CN and linking with the W5DFW remote base association. At the moment I am only using a mag-mount antena on top of the shelter, but thanks to a gracious donation from W5GSR, we have a dual band vertical that will go up around 150'. I am waiting for a clear nice day with no wind to make a tower climb.
03.19.2013-
The 927.875 repeater is running standalone until further notice. I need the 3rd port on the repeater controller for the frequency agile remote base.
The 462.700 is also offline indefinately due to the equipment being repurposed / deployed to support the American Red Cross.
10.2.2011-
The 145.230 repeater has been converted to narrowband with a maximum deviation of 2.5kc. What this means is that you will have to set your radio for narrowband otherwise your audio may exceed the passband of the repeaters receiver and you will fall out of the repeater. Most newer radios support this.
05.24.2011-
WQHL805 has donated the GMRS repeater to the Dallas Chapter of the American red Cross. It has changed frequencies and callsigns. DEVELOPING
05.04.2011-
We now accept donations for repeater upkeep and insurance costs via paypal!

Guidelines for repeater usage
Every repeater listed in our network is open except those with unpublished tones.
Adhearence to FCC rules and regulations is paramount, Part95 and Part97.
Foul launguage will never be tolerated. It offends the FCC and the repeater trustees.
Try to ID every time the repeater ID's. It's set at 10min, so you just can't go wrong keeping pace.
Kerchunking repeaters is annoying and illegal. If you are range testing, just say so.
Please observe the courtesy tones. This is a linked system and by tailgating (keying up after the other party unkeys with no gap) you lock other users out of this system. *This is bad practice* It is said that it is not PTT (Push To Talk) but RTL (Release to Listion)
